Milton Academy seeks interns for The Saturday Course, an enrichment program for public school children in Grades 4-8 with strong academic skills. Independently motivated students can learn compelling material in a fun and exciting environment. Founded in 1978, The Saturday Course has been an integral part of the Academy’s commitment to public/private partnerships. Ideal candidates will have experience in teaching subjects in which they are passionate. We are hiring for the following specific subject areas: social justice, mathematics, social media (writing, blogging, marketing, etc.), woodworking, and the performing arts.
Hours for this position are 8:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays during program dates. There are 5 sessions during the academic year – each session consists of five Saturdays. Candidates are not required to commit to all sessions.
A successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive community. Additional key qualities for this position include warmth, compassion, cultural competence, flexibility, and humility. able to work effectively and constructively with teachers, staff, administrators, and parents for the benefit of students and the community.
