Summary of Position:
Provides labor to clean and maintain the Athletic and Convocation Center; provides labor to set up and dismantle materials and equipment for various scheduled and special events throughout the year; maintains ice rink, basketball courts, indoor track and fitness center; works on campus grounds when school is not in session. This position will interact with faculty, students, staff, coaches and vendors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintains ice rink, including keeping logs for refrigeration equipment; preparing the ice for use and ensuring a clean and safe ice surface; operating and maintaining electric Zamboni and electric ice edger; monitoring refrigeration equipment and air quality equipment
- Ensures that rink policies and schedules are adhered to by communicating with patrons, visitors and employees.
- Maintains/cleans indoor basketball courts, indoor track and fitness center.
- Supports Athletic Center activities, keeping and maintaining a schedule of events.
- Participates in snow removal activities; shovels snow from stairs, walks and driveways; hand-spreads salt on public passageways to prevent ice build-up.
- Transports, moves, loads, sets up and dismantles tables, chairs, platforms, materials and other equipment in support of various events and operations.
- Participates in the set up and dismantling of the ice rink.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned.
