The Upper School Director of Counseling oversees the counseling program in the Upper School, supervises the Upper School counselors, coordinates clinical meetings with the school psychiatrist and counselors, collaborates with the Director of Nursing, and provides direct therapy to students. The Director of Counseling works most frequently with the Director of Academic Support, Academic Dean, and Dean of Students to identify vulnerable students and develop interventions and supports. Alongside these individuals, the Upper School Director of Counseling coordinates academic and social-emotional supports for students transitioning from medical leaves or extended leaves of absence. The Upper School Director of Counseling oversees and implements the Human Sexuality and Relationships (HS&R) program as well as the other student-led programs from the counseling department. This position oversees the clinical on-call schedule and rotates on the on-call schedule. While the School is not in session, the Director of Counseling is available for emergency situations that arise.
