Summary of Position:

Milton Academy seeks a Director of Budgets and Institutional Analysis.

The Director oversees the school’s annual budget (approximately $85M in 2022-23), forecasts and works with departments to ensure positive financial outcomes, conducts financial modeling and scenario analysis, and completes projects in support of strategic and operational planning and decision-making, including benchmarking with other organizations. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO), the Director serves as a key advisor to senior administrators on critical data-driven decisions and supports efforts to implement those decisions. In addition, the Director works in close partnership with other managers in the division, especially the school’s Controller and Assistant Controller, as well as Human Resources. This position is responsible for creating Board of Trustee presentations that summarize the school’s current and future financial position and attending financially-related Trustee Committee meetings.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated budgeting, forecasting, and planning skills and be a sophisticated user of Excel and PowerPoint, communicating findings in a succinct and thoughtful manner. K-12 and/or higher education experience, as well as external or internal consulting experience, is ideal but not required.

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree, with an MBA or other advanced professional degree preferred.
