Milton Academy, established in 1798, is an independent, coeducational, national boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K–12 on a 125-acre campus eight miles south of Boston.
Milton Academy seeks Middle School Support Teachers for grades 6-8 for the remainder of the 2020-2021 academic year. We are looking for teachers who have a passion for working with the middle school age group. In addition to outstanding teaching ability, we seek teachers who are inquisitive, self-directed, team-oriented, and dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Welcoming students to campus; making sure students maintain social distancing guidelines as they head to homerooms
- Co-facilitating advisories with a mentor teacher
- Supervising and support students in classes in which faculty member is remote
- Providing coverage when a faculty member is absent
- Providing study hall coverage and working to support student one-on-one and in small groups with academics
- Providing lunch coverage, helping to ensure that students are maintaining health and safety protocols
- Supporting and co-leading co-curricular activities
- Organizing, creating content, and editing “virtual” community assemblies
Qualified applicants will have age-appropriate experience in an academic setting, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as a team member.
