Milton Academy is an independent college preparatory K–12 school, boarding and day in grades 9–12, located eight miles south of Boston.

Milton enrolls approximately 1,000 students each year: 725 boarding and day students in the Upper School, and 275 day students in Lower and Middle Schools. Representing the majority of the student population, with families from around the corner and across the world, the Upper School has unique and complex communication needs.
Summary of Position:
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for support of communications activities, including in support of events, donor relations and fundraising deliverables and experiences, as well as general office support for the development and alumni relations team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Serves a lead role in developing and maintaining development and alumni webpages, keeping content relevant and ensuring an on-brand online experience.
- Primary driver of alumni social and digital content, developing and posting content that builds loyalty to the School, developing a monthly e-newsletter, supporting the writing, designing and sending of emails, and monitoring online engagement.
- Assists with donor stewardship, may include mailing support, maintaining gift inventory, updating donor data, and assisting with project management.
- Supports the creation of key communications deliverables, including 50th reunion book, holiday greetings, video content and more.
- Tracks alumni milestone information (class notes, birth and death notifications), serving as an administrative liaison for Milton Magazine.
- Primary coordinator of department-wide mail calendar meetings, works to ensure communication is coordinated for a donor-centric experience.
- Provides general administrative support to ensure the success of the communication and events team including reconciling the budget and monthly reports.
- Other office-wide duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience in a related
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google docs; strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, WordPress, and other digital tools and platforms.
- Strong writer and proofreader.
- Critical thinker and eager problem solver.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills—ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be comfortable as a liaison to the campus, alumni and parent community, excellent customer service is a must.
